SMA-P SERIES PNEUMATIC PORTABLE MILLING TOOLS AND MACHINES

Saar Hartmetall USA introduces the Gerima SMA-P series of portable pneumatic edge-milling tools to the North American market. The SMA series portable pneumatic edge-milling tools utilize carbide inserts to mill a variety of carbon-based steel including structural steel and allow the operator infinite depth of cut up to 40 mm (specialized applications required for cut depth beyond 15 mm) while employing a pre-set milling angle.

The tools are lightweight and help reduce worker fatigue. The tools are low maintenance and have no electric parts. Because of the patented milling head technology, the tools achieve an aggressive cut in the first pass and have excellent shock absorption properties.

Pneumatic Portable Beveling Tool

The SMA 20-P utilizes 3 indexable carbide inserts and can bevel a 30°, 45° or 60° angle up to 10 mm width and mill either a 2 or 3 mm radius edge. The compact design allows for easy handling and the patented quick connect milling heads reduces time spent removing the milling heads for maintenance or angle changes. The pneumatic motor also helps in shock absorption by reducing chatter and shock during cut interruption.

The SMA 40-P extends the capability of the SMA 20-P by extending the range of bevel angles to between 10° and 80° and increases cut width up to 15 mm. The SMA 40-P can mill radius edges up to 8 mm. The same patented milling head technology and shock absorption properties exists on the SMA 40-P as are present on the SMA 20-P.
